Far North Business Grants

Opening in November 2021, the Northern Australia Development Program launches its Business Development Grant to eligible businesses looking to scale up and diversify their operations.

The grant is specifically targeted at businesses in Northern Australia to create jobs, strengthen capabilities and build resilience.

At a Glance

• The program has two elements:

  • Grant opportunities between $50,000 and $2 million to eligible projects

  • Business advisory services, which give access to advice and services to build and strengthen business

• For small and medium businesses (up to 199 employees) including Indigenous businesses

Eligible Activities

• Buying, constructing, installing or commissioning of plant and equipment

• Construction and/or fit-out of new infrastructure

• Relevant training and skills development directly related to your project

• Feasibility studies

• Process design and engineering

• Business planning

• Marketing activities

Who is Eligible?

• Small and medium businesses (up to 199 employees)

• An Australian incorporated entity or incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust

How to Apply?

Applicants must provide the following documentation as part of your application:

• Project plan

• Project budget

• An accountants declaration stating the company’s revenue from trading activities is a significant portion of total revenue

• Evidence of funding strategy - financial statements, cash flow documents, loan agreements

• Trust deed (where applicable).

Important Dates

Note - this program is now open and runs until 24 October 2023.

The assessment committee will meet periodically to assess batched applications. The first meeting will consider applications submitted up until 10 December 2021.
